Rather than bother typing it all out, I’m just going to point you in the direction of EXACTLY what went down at my house the other night when Calvin suddenly started hobbling around the house, refusing to put weight on his front leg.
Just read this story, replace the appropriate names and add $116 to the end result.
Sigh.
Edit: Please be aware that dachshunds are prone to many spinal injuries that manifest in ways like strange changes in movement, loss of leg mobility, etc. Yes. I am somewhat crazy for voluntarily spending $100+ for peace of mind…but in a way, wouldn’t you? The day after drafting this post, Calvin was still a little limpy – yes, even after walking marvelously for the vet – but spinal problems have been ruled out – so it’s likely just a sprain or soft tissue injury that will go away on it’s own.
