When Ben asked me to guest post, I was like "DUH, do you even have to ask?" Then he was said, "I know, write about puppies!". Actually it was more like, "I don't care what you write. Pictures. Dog. Now." I'm pretty sure at that second I died and went to guest blogger heaven. I was more than thrilled to comply. My whole blog is puppies. I'm also pretty sure that's the only reason people read my blog. It should be called Edie is Lovely! Not That Broad Who Writes Here Normally! If you haven't guessed by now, it's me, Jamie from Oh! How Lovely! And seriously, with an intro like that, how could you NOT know?
As some of you know, a little wiener dog fell into my possession. He is much like the famous, little pooch Calvin of NOR. Since I couldn't steal Calvin away from Ben, I had to get my own! His coloring is a little different and one of his eyes is half blue. He's all kinds of sweet and loves to cuddle. The downside is, he is permanently attached to my little corgi puppy's neck.
He is only a few months older than her and still has all the puppy energy that Edie has, so it was like a match made in heaven. I couldn't separate these two with a tire iron. I've been trying to take photos of him all week but he won't sit still. I tried though, Ben! You know I couldn't leave Edie out of this even if I wanted to! This is pretty much my life for the past week, I walk around with a big blur of brown, black and white fur trailing behind me.
My new little guy was given the unfortunate name of Smokey McLuvin. Yes, I said Smokey McLuvin. He WILL get beat up at the dog park with a name like that. I'm calling up on you, readers of NOR, to help me coming up with a new name for this pup.
He deserves better. Look at this face.
This is not the face of a Smokey McLuvin.
Help me name this poor pup. Or I'll be forced to name him Calvin Jr.

They're both precious, but I am fairly positive I have said that to you before.
As far as a name, maybe something to do with Edie's name? Like Warhol. Or Dylan. Or something? ... Clearly, I'm not good at this. ;)
He's precious. My aunt had a weiner dog and named it Emma but my mom always called it Maestro because her tail looked like the baton of an orchestra conductor.
But I pretty much love the name Smokey McLuvin.
oh weiner dogs! just makes sure they stay away from tampons, my best friends puppy had a tragic tampon eating accident.
TMI?
probably.
I'm liking Warhol, but for some reason Gabe popped into my head when I looked at the photo.
My old supervisor from work got a mini dachshund last year and named him Larry! And holy cow did he live up to it. As for a name for the new little guy, I'm not very good at naming animals. Although if I had to suggest a name, I'd maybe suggest "Puck" like the character from A Midsummer Night's Dream. And given Wikipedia's background mythology on the name, the mischievous quality might be fitting. :)
I like the following names:
Thor
Nugget
Bigfoot
Vladimir
Bwaha.
He's adorable. I like Alfie, and Spiegal.
Winston. David (Davey). Thomas.
Basically I love any real people names for animals.
They are too cute for words. I love the pic of "Smokey" getting PWNed in a big way.
Tyler. Ty for short because he looks like a damn beanie baby, he's so little.
Or beans. But I don't even think I like that. I like Thor (good call, the ex), but was planning to use that name on the first puppy I acquired. Oh, whatever. :)
Fancy seeing you over here Jamie! It's a small blog world.
I'd go with... Ink. He looks 'ink-uisitive'!
Oh, I do like Thor. I always tell the hubs that's what I'd name a kid if we had one. Might be why we don't have kids.
I also like Ted or Kevin. Not for kids. For dogs. It cracks me up when dogs have common human names.
hmmmm
Rasputin
Bob
Cannoli
Ruben
Boot
I think this may be the first time my ADD has come in handy....
Steve!!!
Name him Steve!
I'm telling you it fits!
Oscar.
Short for Oscar Mayer weiner dog.
i always liked the name "amos" for weiner dogs...i can't explain it.
he looks like a Martin
aw they are so cute together.
how about edie and arnold? or angus? seamus? yeah i don't know where i'm getting these from either, haha.
I think you should make an anagram of his previous name. Smokey can be jumbled up into Moksey, and it sounds like he does indeed have a lot of moxie. Plus, "Moksey the Doxie" is a riot.
Seymour!
I wish I was better at names and such so I could give some suggestions.. alas - I SUCK at it.
Oy.
Awww...so cute!
Winkles
Schnitzel
Zipper
Tipper
Tater
Keibasa
Jager
Schnaps
Zucker
Laurenmc18 - Moxie! Ok, this could be my favorite.
Moxie is a good name, that's the name of my boxer;

Schnagglepuss
