Updated: June 14, 2009Where to begin?
I'm Ben Boudreau, twenty-four years old, born and raised in Halifax, Nova Scotia with select chapters spent in The Netherlands, Ireland and Ottawa. These days I work in advertising while living happily in a house in the suburbs with my two mini dachshunds and the newf with whom I am forever bound by shared debt in our glorious mortgage-marriage. And before you ask: no, he is not of the large canine variety.
I've been blogging since February 2007 and have been happy to share tales of unemployment, drunken debauchery, sausage-shaped puppies, why football should be taken out back and shot, making coworkers uncomfortable, and personal injuries.
I have a separate dog blog but have also co-blogged, guest blogged, marketing blogged and let's not forget such shining moments of literary adventure like when I make up my own verbs like 'shawshanked' or 'sister-acted'. If after all that you really need more blog in your life, check out my dream date series where I've featured some of my favourite writers.
That should be all you need to either get started or find a safer, kinder place on the internet (or porn). Subscribe to the RSS feed, feel free to connect with me using the website of your choice and thanks for stopping by!

Hi benjamin, welcome to blogland! (Sounds like a blogger's anonymous meeting) Good share.
I for one am glad to have you here blathering on about whatever you wish.
Thanks for the intro. I no longer feel like I'm reading blind.
Love your layout, too! ;)
Hello! Found you via Twitter!
hi, newbie here as well. nice to meet you :)
Just wanted to give you some puppy support!! My dog has a "sensitive" stomach and gets sick when he eats random things (which is all the time) so we had to switch our dog to I/D (Intestinal Diet) which is just a bland food. He is doing a lot better now so hopefully yours will start feeling better too!
Hiya! Just thought I'd stop by in my post-weekend-away-blog-reading-catchup. Great to add another 20 something to the reader!
Thanks for saying hello and giving my feedreader some new loveliness to check out!
Christie: I just got in from another $160 trip to the vet because of Calvin's innate ability to reject all food.More on this in an upcoming puppy post.
Benjaminnnn....I like your blog. I'm glad you decided to join up on the whole 20something thing, we happen o be a tight bunch over there, all nine hundred and somethig of us now...I look forward to reading more!!
thanks for the introduction. :] I'm still jealous you live in NS.
I really should have come to this page first.
Cause I was convinced you were a guy and then read a Union Jane post and then I was confused then I read this and I wasn't so confused anymore. :)
NO WAY! I'm an almost-PR-graduate and vegetarian for 8 years. And we both have blogs. Geesh, that's a lot. :)
Dude why haven't I picked up your feed yet? I'm in Social Media marketing and your posts on industry topics are GOLD - because you are throwing in not just personality but humanity into the mix here.
Getting addicted very quickly. Don't be surprised if I lurk you for years. :)
Just discovered your blog. I love it. You have given me more stuff for my googlereader and for that I am eternally grateful...or something.
Great blog :)
I found your blog on another. I love it. But can you please explain the title: No Ordinary Rollercoaster? Or did you explain that in your "meet me" section, and I missed it as I was skimming.
That is absolutely the best 'about me' page I've ever read. I actually learned something - wait for it - about you!!
Wandered over from 'surviving myself'.
Ben, for the record, I like you so very, very much.
Chelsea: Wow. These comments are apparently old news since we're now in the 2000s. Scary.
Apricot: It's beautiful. Maybe the next 20SB meet-up? Yeah, as if anyone would travel all the way up here.
Sleepyjane: Hahaha I like to remain ambiguously confusing.
Ashley: I'm pretty sure we should definitely hug.
Nico: YES! Someone who cares about my little known social media posts hahahaha that makes for a grand total of........one.
Kez: Thank you, thank you :)
Tracie: It's up there!
Coop: Aww...well thanks!! You come from an excellent blog. I hope you aren't disappointed.
J-Money: I am oh-so glad to hear you say that. I like you very much too. :)
Hey Ben, I had to stop by and meet you... nice blog- I also added your Doxie Facebook network to my page- so that's me there as one of your "new readers/friends", Anne.
Very cool site and I love the way your blog name came about!
Found your blog through 20Somethings, and I love it. Oh the trials of being a dog owner...
I'm glad I stumbled upon your blog...we seem to frequent the same ones and just had to know what all the fuss was about. App. plenty, including tiny adorable dogs.
Nice to meet you today!
Julie
Many people have mentioned you...and after Tia I just gave up and decided to find out what the fuss is all about.
Crap, now I have another blog I'm addicted to!
Javaqueen: Thanks so much!!
Hollywoodjane: Hilarious but trying, aren't they?
Jossie: There does happen to be a lot of fuss. As for what it's about? Beats me.
Metro Mama: You too! Thanks for stopping by!
Stacy: She's an influential lady, isn't she? Thanks for giving in!
From what I've gotten to read so far, I would have to say I totally enjoy your blog. Plus anyone who owns Dachshunds are awesome in my book. My little one is back home with the parentals--I miss her so much! Can't wait to read more, and hopefully you can enjoy mine--the layout isn't as cool as yours, but hopefully the context is a nice read. :)
I dont see an e-mail ID, hence the comment.
Obama won. Damn.
Cos I actually like Canada. To be precise, the North-West Territories.
We both love blogger
We both love men
We both love dogs
We both ride rollercoasters!
I am not nearly as witty, and I LOVE in and out burger!
But Tia sent me over here I may never leave! I am hooked!
If I'd just read your about me page I'd have saved my brain from a racking on what newf meant :) Found you from clever girl goes blog and love reading your stuff. Wicked witty!
Nikki: Awww...I couldn't cope without my puppies. Thanks for dropping by!
Beingpurple: I popped an email at the bottom of the post. Thanks for letting me know it was missing!
Sandi: High five! Thanks for coming :)
TheRambler: Hahaha I'm sneaky like that.
I found you because of your blog on Kelly Clarkson. Your sense of humor is awesome and you're pretty darn cute too! If I lived in Boston then you and your friend could totally crash on my couch! I will continue to read, thanks!
Just started reading today! Love everything so far! Thanks for being you Ben! You have brightened up my day!
wow, that may just be the creepiest and most spectacular thing I have ever seen.
your blog makes me wanna get a weiner dog.. (i own a longhaired chihuahua) and a gay boyfriend.
you're awesome. and very entertaining :)
Ha...I just watched your squeaky toy video. That is why my dog learned the word "quiet" before sit/stay/come/etc. He even sleeps with the damn sqeaky in his mouth. :)
I've been lurking for a good hour and a half, reading older posts, before clicking on the "Meet Me" button.
Lo and behold, you're a guy.
I know, I know. Not very quick, this one is.
And dear father gawd you crack me up! Totally going on my blogreader.
yea, almost similar with The Demigod,,first i thought that you were a girl, but 'wew' (another word for 'wow') i surprised that you were a guy. Well, it doesn't really matter what gender whose wrote a blog, cause all the same as long as post something good and useful, isn't it ?
Last but not least, keep blogging, cause I love read your blog, btw, may i linked your blog to mine ?
